First Snow

Yesterday, the snow stayed on the ground for the first time this season!

The kids were enthralled.

Location: At the Sunday lunch table

Hannah: "Daddy, can I get down and go play?"

Daddy: "No, Hannah. What do we do before we get up from the table?"

Hannah: "Oh. We finish eating and read the Bible and pray and go wash our hands and scram."

Haha! I guess they've heard me say that too many times. 

 

Miles' First Hunt!!

It was a big day...

Get up early with Daddy : Dress in layers with camo on top (!!!) : Drive a half hour

Tramp through grasslands so tall you can't see through them : Take some shots at pheasants that your friend's dog flushes up

It was quite windy and cold, which made for difficult shooting.

But a little boy's day was made.

By the way, it totally tastes like chicken!  :) 

We enjoyed it with mashed potatoes and gravy and yellow beans he picked from the garden last summer.
