Luke Air Force Base is close by, so we drove around a bit to see if we could get closer to the jets which were flying around the area.

We were quite shocked when we found ourselves parked just below their landing runway.
So LOUD!!!

How ironic, but we were not able to continue our plans with visiting the Petrified Forest National Park on Monday/Tuesday, because they were getting about 2 feet of snow!! Haha!
So we opted to drive south and visit an old gold mining ghost town.
We all enjoyed a historical glimpse into the past.

about to go down into the mine shaft

Miles and Celene got to experience a zip line ride for the first time!
