Another Hannah Quote

These quotes are just too funny not to document. I sure wish I did this when Miles and Celene were little!!

Last night, just Hannah and I went to church. Shawn took the older ones in the morning. Eli is not feeling well so we kept him home.

On our way home from church:

Hannah: "Mom, I wish I had a bucket and a brush and green paint. I want to paint Daddy's car all over and let it dry."

This morning, Hannah and I are baking cookies while Miles and Celene are outside doing barn chores and playing in the snow. It's 3 degrees outside, so Hannah opted to stay in.

Shawn calls to say hello while on his morning break at work. Hannah's answers since my hands were full of cookie dough.

Hannah: "Hello?"
Shawn: "Hi!"
Hannah: "Oh, hi Daddy. We are making cookies."
Shawn: "Oh yeah? What kind of cookies? Chocolate chip or m&m?"
Hannah: "No Daddy, pistachio cookies."
Shawn: "Oooohhh. Is that right?" *laughs* "Is this Hannah or Celene?"

Hannah: "Mama, I'm a block of ice. I can't move. Can you bam me so I break?"

Just heard:

Hannah: "Mom, I wish I had a Grandma at my house. I wish she can live with me."

Me: "Yeah?"

Hannah: "Yeah. Mom, can I call you Grandma? Can I call Mama-Grandma? No, wait, that's a funny word. You know what, Mama? Triangle. That's another funny word."

Me: *laughing*

Hannah: "Mama, can I do a project?"

Views from the Home School

Celene deserves a special notice...
she is very diligent, neat, precise, and often over-achieves.

And Hannah often finds it necessary to entertain herself while Mama is busy teaching.
She does a great job with this and is lately turning into quite a little builder. :)
She has already finished her entire pre-K curriculum and we are waiting for some new books to arrive in the mail for her. :)

Tooth Update

A momentous event

Daddy Makes Work Fun

Last weekend they were using the Kitty Kat to haul wood from the barn and burn it.
Just makes this boy's day. :)

Little Eli

He's just growing up so quickly.

Oh, it's just you. :)

I love it when this happens.

Since the decision to try homeschooling this year came with much
thought, prayer, research, and deliberation,
it only asks to be documented on this little blog at least once in a while!

So far, it's been going really well. Much better than I even imagined. I'm so grateful for that!
The kids actually love it, and don't seem to mind being home as much as I expected.
I'm also enjoying it. It's fun, easy, gentle, and leaves room for individual creativity.
Best of all, they are learning!!!
It never ceases to amaze me.
