First Family Snowmobile Trip

Last night, we planned our very first snowmobile trip all together as a family!
It was the perfect night, not too cold, still nice and snowy.
Likely the last time we'll be able to hit the public trails...as the weather starts warming come March.
But we'll see.
It was a lovely time. And so beautiful.

Winter Picnic and Playground

Somehow, being winter, makes it even more fun!

lunch was from a local brat fry supporting our friend's mission trip to the Dominican

This Week

Enjoying a candy cane from Aunt Pat while doing school

Daddy and Hannah on a date at the local Mexican restaurant :)

Me and the boys having a sweet treat at the bakery during the kids' piano lessons

Shawn and Miles and friends enjoying a day of snowmobiling on the trails

Theo still consistently put his shirts on backwards AND inside out ;)

This Week

Buttons snuggles in while Hannah does schoolwork

Theo was excited to show Grandma he finished his school book!

we finally started shelling our milling corn from our garden

the kids love to help

it has to be the most beautiful of all the seeds...so many colors! even stripes!!

we plan to grind it and try making cornbread with it

True story...this corn is Painted Indian Milling Corn...handed down through the Sioux generations and still growing today!
It was brought along on the Trail of Tears, the historical genocide and removing of an entire race from the American Plains in the 1800s. Amazing we still have this seed today.

Sunrise after fresh snow

Fresh Snowfall

I don't think I could live in a place without snow ;)

Snowmobile Races

Our friend got Shawn and I some tickets for the local snowmobile races last weekend!
(Kids were free)
The kids were enthralled! Their first time having such an experience. :)

the kids especially loved the winners row...when the races are done they come through a narrow shoot where fans get to give high fives

they get so high!!!!

Hannah Tested for 2nd Level Brown!

Hannah is fast and quick, physically and mentally.
She's worked hard and earned her black stripes!
We're all so proud of her!

Hannah gets some height!
