This Season

It's an interesting time, isn't it?
This time of quarantine.
We've all had to adjust, some in more ways than others.

For us, the kids felt the loss of Tae Kwon Do classes, swimming class, home school swim meet, piano lessons, playtime and sleepovers and birthday parties with friends.

However, it's also been good. We've adjusted to being home more.
Bring present. In the now.
Enjoying a respite from the running around.

It helps that spring has arrived!
The lovely weather, still cool and fresh, but with those warm hints in the wind.
Wonderful!

exporing a creek that runs into Gerber Lake near us

Gerber Lake is melting

Hannah made a torch

a reading game for the boys...they have to read the word and then get to jump!

a little bit of fresh snow last week...just enough to make a fort!

Eli was so proud of his number writing page!
Spring winds call for flying kits in the field!

the kids explored a train bridge when we went for a walk in Plymouth area

Theo still gets a little stir crazy on the rainy days ;) photo credit Celene

Celene planted a sweet little succulent in a hand-painted mug that Sully gave her. It just makes me happy, sitting in my kitchen window.
playing Pictionary at Grandma's house

Grandma was impressed by Theo's drawing skills..that's his rendition of a jump rope ;)

Celene making much use of the sewing machine Grandma gave us last year!
Tae Kwon Do classes are being made possible on a video conferencing app called Zoom!
Thankfully the kids get to continue classes.
Of course it's more fun to actually go to the school, but they seem to enjoy this for the time being.

see, there's a small laptop set up on the table in front of Hannah
Grandma treated Celene to a glass art making kit for her birthday!
You can see how excited she is :)

this is one of her creations

and another...her reminder of California ;)
This weekend Grandma plans to drop them off the shop where they will fire her art in a kiln.
Then they will go pick it up next week.
and a last design...she's working on a peacock
the girls' origami skills have taken new dimensions!
